City of St. Louis questions
- What license does roofing work in the City take?
- The City requires contractors working inside it to hold a Construction Industry Contractor Graduated Business License. That is a requirement on contractors generally — a cost of working in the City — not a quality badge any roofer should wave at you.
- What kind of roofs do you see most in the City?
- Everything from steep Victorian slopes to the flat and low-slope membranes on rowhouses and corner commercial buildings — both are work we do in the City.
- My rowhouse shares a parapet with the neighbor's. Does that complicate the roof?
- It is ordinary city work. Shared parapets, box gutters and old layered membranes are what a rowhouse block is built of, and the estimate walks exactly where your roof ends before anyone commits to anything.
